pool GUIDELINES
- The lifeguard on duty has full authority and their instructions must be followed.
- Showers are required before entering the pool, hot tub or sauna.
- No running on deck or locker rooms.
- Street shoes are not permitted on deck. (This means shoes worn anywhere outside the pool.)
- Appropriate swimwear is required in pool, hot tub and sauna.
- Food, gum and drink, other than water, are not permitted in the pool area. Water must be in a non-breakable container.
- Persons with open sores are not allowed in the pool or hot tub unless the complete sore is thoroughly covered by a waterproof bandage.
- Pool will close due to blood, feces, vomit until the proper disinfection can be completed.
- Pool will close if lightning is present in the general area of the Y.
POOL RULES
- No diving, twists or flips off the side of the pool. Forward facing jumps only.
- No Horseplay; dunking, splashing, hanging on ladders or ropes, etc.
- Non Swimmers must remain in the shallow end, unless they are wearing a lifejacket and are accompanied by an adult swimmer. (18 years of age or older)
- Underwater breath holding for long periods is not allowed, this can result in serious injury or death.
- Swim diapers are required for children not toilet trained or anyone with bladder control issues.
- Abusive and/or foul language and behavior is not permitted in the pool area.
AGE REQUIREMENTS
- Swimmers ages 5 and under must be accompanied in the water and within reach, by an adult. (18 years of age or older)
- Swimmers ages 6 – 11 must be accompanied in the water or on deck by an adult. (18 years of age or older)
- Must be 16 years of age or older to enter the Hot Tub or Sauna.
HOT TUB & SAUNA GUIDELINES
- All Hot Tub & Sauna users are required to take a cleansing shower before entering.
- No one under the age of 16 is allowed to enter the Hot Tub or Sauna.
- Do not exceed 15 minutes in Hot Tub or Sauna. Exit for at least 5 minutes before re-entering.
- Persons with health issues including, but not limited to: heart disease, high or low blood pressure, diabetes, respiratory disease, or pregnancy should get approval from their doctor before using the Hot Tub or Sauna.
- THE SAUNA IS DRY HEAT ONLY. DO NOT POUR WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID ON THE SAUNA ROCKS.
- Exercising is not permitted, other than light stretching.
- Do not use the Hot Tub or Sauna while under the influence of any type of alcohol or drugs (legal or illegal).
- If you begin to feel faint or dizzy exit immediately.
- Hydrate before and after using the Hot Tub or Sauna.
- Lifeguard must be on duty to use the Hot Tub or Sauna.
